Ignore e-mails, phone calls or text messages that claim your financial account has been compromised and that direct you to confirm your personal account information such as account numbers and passwords. These messages are bogus and the work of scam artists hoping to get you to reveal your account information that enable the scammers to steal your money. No financial institution will ask for this sensitive personal information unsolicited.
